Form. Function. Craft.
Hi, I am Belinda Lubkoll — a trained goldsmith and manufacturing jeweller based in Taranaki, New Zealand. Inspired by Bauhaus principles of simplicity, balance, and honest craftsmanship, each piece is created with purpose: where traditional goldsmithing meets modern technology.
From bespoke custom designs, diamond rings, wedding rings and contemporary collections to exhibitions and workshops, every design is shaped through skilled hands, technical precision, and a deep respect for materials. Of course repair or resizing of rings are part of the parcel.
Originally from Berlin and now living in Taranaki, my work is influenced by both European goldsmithing traditions and the raw natural landscapes of New Zealand. Years spent working in a traditional jewellery workshop has shaped my understanding how to combine old techniques with CAD design, modern manufacturing processes, and contemporary forms.
Bespoke Jewellery — Designed & Made by Hand
Every piece begins with an idea.
A sketch. A stone. A conversation.
I create custom jewellery from concept through to completion using a combination of hand fabrication, traditional bench techniques, wax carving, stone setting, and digital CAD modelling. This balance between heritage craftsmanship and modern innovation allows me to create jewellery that is both refined and deeply personal.
Many bespoke pieces incorporate my clients’ own gemstones or inherited gold, giving existing materials new life while adding sentimental and sustainable value.
Alongside private commissions, I also create collections, exhibition pieces, and manufacturing work for fellow jewellers.
Bauhaus Influence
My work is strongly influenced by Bauhaus design philosophy — the belief that beauty and function should exist together. Clean lines, balanced proportions, geometric forms, and a small twist to give a simple shape a new design.
Rather than following trends, I focus on timeless designs.
Workshops & Studio Practice
As a full-time jeweller and goldsmith, I also offer hands-on jewellery workshops and mentoring for individuals and small groups. Whether you are a beginner, an art student, or an experienced maker wanting to expand your skills, workshops can be tailored to your experience level and creative goals.
Teaching traditional goldsmithing techniques and opening my workshop to the public through events such as the Taranaki Arts Trail has become an important part of my practice.
My jewellery is available through my studio collections and at Ringcraft Moana Jewellers, Oakura.
I welcome collaborations, custom commissions, exhibition opportunities, and teaching enquiries.
Follow my journey.

Bauhaus inspired ring design
I entered my first jewellery competition last year. As a student in my final year to become a manufacturing jeweller it was exciting to be measured against other jewellers from all around the world.
The idea behind my ring design came from the square topaz that I was working on at the time. I am attracted to architecture and working with contrasts in shapes and textures. An open shank ring band holding my rub- set square topaz, the setting is just slightly off centre, just enough to be a bit annoying.
That year was also the 100 year celebration of Bauhaus in Germany. An art movement and school that has combined art with every day living and mass production. Growing up during the GDR and close to Berlin, this type of architecture and art scene has influenced me since I was a little child.
